A Question From God

"What are you going to do with what I have given you?" -God

It's easy to ask God for more. It's easy to pray for provision. Its easy to dream and plan accordingly. There's nothing wrong with any of these things, but what are we going to do right now? What are we going to do with what God has already blessed us with?

This is something that has been on my heart a lot lately. How can I use the gifts and resources that God has blessed me with right now? It's not a question any more about is there anything I can do, but what am I going to do?

As a society in general, we look at success as having a nice house, a nice car, a good family, a cuddly dog, a hefty savings account, etc. It's all about status and how our lives compare to others'. It's easy to get caught in this trap of status and comparison.

Now there's nothing wrong with having any of those things (unless God has told you to give them up), but we shouldn't look at "having money" as the only way we can help others. We shouldn't look at our status or job title as the only way we can begin to make a difference.

It all starts with where you are right now.

Do you believe God has called you to do something?

If your answer is yes, then I want to ask you what is it God has called you to and what are you doing to achieve that calling?

If God has called you to be a doctor, what are you doing to achieve that call?

If God has called you to write a book, what are you doing to achieve that call?

If God has called you to preach, what are you doing to achieve that call?

If God has called you to start a homeless ministry, what are you doing to achieve that call?

You see, it's not so much about the specific call, but the way we work towards it. If we do nothing, we become nothing.

Our calling is a process. It's about using the resources God has supplied us with to further His Kingdom. Its about starting where you are right now and working to achieve something greater. It's about the small steps that others may not see. Its about the behind the scenes work and the tears shed.

Calling is hard work. Calling is a challenge. Calling is rewarding.

So what are you going to do?

How are you going to use what God has given you to further His Kingdom right now?

What is your next step?

I challenge all of you reading this to do something. Do something that is going to challenge you. Do something that is going to push you into your calling.

Stop living in fear. Stop living in complacency. God hasn't called you there.
