Have you ever spoken the words, "I'm scared"? I'm sure you have and I have too.
Fear is something that can ruin dreams. It can squash hopes. It can defeat the broken and even the victorious. It is something that is taking over God's people. We are too fearful to step out in faith. We tend to stay in our comfort zones and just do the normal thing. We turn down an unusual idea, before even praying about it. We do what everyone else does and we don't set ourselves apart enough.
BUT, I believe there is a new generation rising up to step out in faith, shake it up a bit, and do things a little different. Will that be you? Will you let faith override your fear to do what God is calling you to do, even if it is outlandish?
I'm going to be real with you. I am the kind of person that wants to operate completely in faith. I will be fully ready to go all in for something that seems a little different, but my downfall is that I let the voices of other people interfere with that faith. Whether it's peoples' reactions, their words, or just the idea that they might think I'm crazy. I often second guess myself and overthink all the possibilities. I wonder, "is this really Jesus asking me to do this?"
Here's what I should do though... I should continuously pray and stand unwaveringly in my faith. I'm working on it. Because I don't want to be the person that gets stuck in fear and becomes stagnant. I want to live a crazy outlandish life for Jesus, because He is worth it.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Think about this.
The only time that Jesus became upset with His disciples is when they lacked faith. When I recognized this, it shook me to my core. Jesus' disciples betrayed Him and even then He did not get upset. But when they lacked faith, He called them out for it. He said "Oh, ye of little faith." He's basically asking them, why do you doubt me? Why is your faith so small?
And I believe that is what Jesus is saying to you and me today... Why is your faith so small?
"He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm".
Make a choice right now to live with complete faith. Make a choice to pray continuously and seek God's will for your life. It might look a little different, it might be a little scary, but nothing is more scary than being out of God's will.
So pray bigger prayers. Live more freely. Operate in faith and cast out fear.
Too often fear is the thing that stops us from living a victorious life. So, today let faith win.
"He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
